The present Weher Bockwindmühle was the bishop's mill until before 1650, then owned by the Rahden church as a state royal mill until 1732. The mill was then sold to changing owners. The last miller family was the Wiegmann family. In 1953 the mill was shut down. After the shutdown of the miller's business in the threatened the final decay. The Weher Heimatverein took over the mill in 1979 and the Minden-Lübbecke Mill Association lovingly restored it in 1983.
Cultural events are very important at the Weher Bockwindmühle. Traditional events such as folk dance and theater performances, picture exhibitions, arts and crafts sales and the Low German church service on Ascension Day attract visitors young and old.
